I Thought of You Today

I thought of you today
you cross my mind
do you know that?
i thought of you today
and it almost kill me and
I don't know why it hurt so much
but it did.

I thought of you today
I listen to songs that reminded you
that I could find comfort in
when I was feeling all alone
and for some reason the world
felt so quiet to me.
Something might be wrong with me
cause I don't know why I'm hurting as much as I am.

I thought of you today
do you believe that?
That the world felt different
because you are gone.

I almost broke down
but didn't instead I let a tear out
and put you in the back of mind
in truth it was hard to do.

But I thought of you today
no one really knows that I
was hiding you behind my smile.
I don't know why it felt
like a dagger that I want to put a shield against
but for some reason I don't
maybe cause its the only way keeping you alive
I don't know.

I wonder everything about you
for a strange reason.
Maybe you know why
but you can't tell me.

do you know you left your finger prints on my heart
as little they may be but they are there?

and I looked to the sky
thinking that's where you are now.

trying to make my heart harder
cause I don't know if it will hurt any less when

I kinda hope so but if it hurts the same
I'll have those next to me
