Lazer, Camera, Action!

Two days from now is production
Will you come with me to get my sight back?
I know, ten years along time without seeing
Without wanting to see.
I want to see
I’m letting go of the past
I want to see the world
Your face, his face, their faces
Your children, my wedding
The colors
To be no longer in darkest
To see the light.

I don’t want to count my steps
To not guess where I should be looking.
Will you come with me?

The doctor explains all the dangers
You hold my hand tight.
I'm not afraid
You are
Thinking all will go wrong.

The laser starts…

Day of production
My eyes still bandage up
We get in costumes and makeup
I do the first scene without you
We don’t meet until two hours later.

The bandages come off
The moment capture on film
It’s the child meeting the mother for the first time
Both our breathes are taking away
We continue with the scene
Cut.

We both cry
I don’t want to move
I don’t want to take my eyes off of you.
Don’t want to leave your side.
I'm the weak one for the first time.

I can’t lose a second of this
Taking in this moment
Pausing it.

My first movie
Where I didn’t count my steps
Where I didn’t have to act like
I could see.

That’s a wrap.
