Fought everyday
If they didn’t kill each other
It was a good day.
They were never left alone
Never spent any real time together
Never talked.
Three years have gone by
She holds anger and sadness in her heart.
Big sister moved out
To the city
Disgusted with even the idea of Emma.
They haven’t been

With the holiday approaching
She came to Scott, “I want this to end.
I’m ready.”
He looks at her with a smile.
“Thanks Scott.”
She runs off with

He stands there in shock.
The first week in December
The X-Men gather around in the living room
“All right gang, time for secret Santa. Changer, why don’t ya go first?” , Scott announces
With a hat full of their names.
She steps up and pulls a name out of the hat,
Looks at it and smiles at him.
“Emma?” , Scott calling her to go next
And does the same and gives him a mean look.
Weeks later
No one has seen the Changer.
For she has been hard at work
Going to places, she thought she would never have to revisit.
All they know is
She has been using power tools
And won’t let anyone into her room.
Christmas day…
“Okay everyone its time to exchange gifts,
Remember you spend the whole day with
Your secret Santa and meet back for Christmas dinner.”, Scott tells them.
She walks up slowly
To Emma and says
“Hey Emma, would you come sit with me?”
“Well, sure my dear.”, Emma replies.
They walk to the sofa and sit
For the first time she
Is nervous in front of Emma.
“I know I’ve been a jerk to you in every way possible.
I’m sorry for that, you don’t deserve it. Would you please be open
For me to treat you better?”
She pleads with Emma.
“Of course I will.”, Emma tells her and they both smile.
She hands Emma a box
“This is for you.”
Emma opens the box,
Emma is dazzle by it.
“ I curve this key out of diamonds
And the chain is adamantium.
It represents that um… the key to my heart
And you have access to it and
Cause it’s the strongest stuff it will protect you.
I will protect you, Emma.” , She promises.
“It’s beautiful. Thank you.
Then this fits you perfectly.”
Emma hands her a box
“ It’s a locket it has everyone in there, family picture of
Jean, Scott, Rachel and you.
I hope one day
You can add a picture with me in it.
Oh, there’s also a picture of Logan, see?
Do you like it?” , Emma explains to her.
She sits there
And tears start
To fall for the first time
In Emma’s presence and hugs her.
“Come child, I want to show you something
If you take us there.”
Knowing where Emma wants to go
They teleport to the cemetery
At Jean’s headstone.
“I want you to know
That I also grieve for you, your sister, and for Scott.”
Emma places a rose next to the headstone.
Together they cry
In each other’s arms.
